Specialty Clinics

  • Asthma Clinic

Our Pediatric Asthma & Breathing Clinic is dedicated to helping children breathe easier, stay active, and live healthier lives. Whether your child has frequent cough, wheezing, shortness of breath, exercise-related breathing difficulties, or concerns for asthma, our team provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and ongoing management tailored to each child’s needs.

    Comprehensive Asthma Evaluation

We offer in-office pulmonary function testing (PFT), which allows us to measure lung function and assess how well your child’s airways are working. This testing helps us accurately diagnose asthma and other breathing conditions, determine the severity of symptoms, and guide treatment decisions.

    Personalized Treatment Plans

Every child’s asthma is different. After a thorough evaluation, we work with families to develop an individualized treatment plan based on the child’s symptoms, triggers, lung function, and lifestyle.

    Treatment may include:

    • Rescue inhalers for symptom relief

    • Daily controller medications when indicated

    • Guidance on allergy and environmental trigger management

    • Exercise and activity recommendations

    • Education on proper inhaler and spacer technique

Our clinic follows the most current evidence-based asthma guidelines, including recommendations for SMART (Single Maintenance and Reliever Therapy) when appropriate. SMART therapy uses one inhaler for both daily asthma control and symptom relief and has been shown to reduce asthma exacerbations and improve overall asthma management for many children with persistent asthma. We work closely with families to determine whether this approach is the right fit for their child’s individual needs.

    Asthma Action Plans

A key part of successful asthma management is knowing what to do when symptoms change. Each patient receives a personalized Asthma Action Plan that outlines:

    • Daily asthma management

    • How to recognize worsening symptoms

    • When to adjust medications

    • When to seek medical attention

These plans can be shared with schools, daycare providers, coaches, and caregivers to help ensure consistent care wherever your child is.

    Ongoing Monitoring & Support

Asthma can change as children grow. We provide regular follow-up visits and repeat pulmonary function testing when appropriate to monitor control, adjust medications, and help prevent asthma flare-ups. Our goal is to minimize symptoms, reduce emergency visits, and keep children healthy, active, and participating fully in the activities they enjoy.

    When to Consider an Evaluation

Your child may benefit from an asthma evaluation if they experience:

    • Recurrent wheezing

    • Persistent or chronic cough

    • Coughing at night

    • Shortness of breath

    • Chest tightness

    • Frequent respiratory illnesses

    • Exercise-induced symptoms

    • Repeated use of an inhaler without a clear diagnosis

Our team is committed to partnering with families to provide evidence-based asthma care in a supportive, child-friendly environment.

Helping kids breathe easier, sleep better, play harder, and thrive.

  • Lactation Clinic

Our Pediatric Lactation Clinic is dedicated to supporting families throughout their infant feeding journey. Whether you are preparing for breastfeeding, navigating challenges in the early newborn period, returning to work, or simply looking for reassurance that feeding is going well, our lactation consultant provides personalized, evidence-based guidance tailored to your family's needs.

    Comprehensive Feeding Assessment

Every feeding relationship is unique. Our lactation consultant takes the time to assess both the baby and the breastfeeding parent to identify factors that may be affecting feeding success. This includes evaluating latch, positioning, milk transfer, feeding efficiency, infant weight gain, feeding frequency, and overall feeding comfort.

    Collaborative Pediatric Care

One of the unique benefits of our Pediatric Lactation Clinic is the close collaboration between our lactation consultant and your child's pediatric healthcare team. Because our clinic is integrated within the pediatric practice, we are able to combine expert feeding support with ongoing medical care and growth monitoring.

Our lactation consultant works closely with your child's pediatric provider to monitor weight gain, feeding progress, hydration, and overall infant health. This team-based approach allows us to identify concerns early, provide coordinated recommendations, and ensure families receive comprehensive support throughout their feeding journey.

By bringing pediatric care and lactation support together, families benefit from convenient, streamlined care focused on both successful feeding and healthy growth.

    Personalized Breastfeeding Support

Our goal is to help families build a comfortable, sustainable, and enjoyable feeding relationship.

During visits, we provide individualized guidance on:

    • Achieving a deep, comfortable latch

    • Optimizing feeding positions for both parent and baby

    • Assessing milk transfer during feeds

    • Addressing nipple pain and feeding discomfort

    • Supporting appropriate infant weight gain

    • Managing common breastfeeding challenges

    Pumping & Milk Supply Support

Breastfeeding is only one part of many families' feeding journeys. We also provide practical support and education related to pumping and milk expression. Topics may include:

    • Establishing and maintaining milk supply

    • Increasing milk production when needed

    • Creating a pumping schedule that fits your family's needs

    • Returning to work or school while continuing to provide breast milk

    • Selecting and using breast pumps effectively

    • Building and managing a freezer milk stash

    Milk Storage & Feeding Guidance

Families often have questions about safely storing, handling, and feeding expressed breast milk. Our lactation consultant provides up-to-date recommendations on milk storage, bottle feeding techniques, paced bottle feeding, and maintaining breastfeeding goals while incorporating expressed milk.

    Ongoing Support & Follow-Up

Infant feeding needs often change over time. We provide ongoing follow-up and support as babies grow and feeding goals evolve. Whether you need help in the newborn period, guidance through growth spurts, support with supply concerns, or assistance transitioning back to work, we are here to help every step of the way.

When to Consider a Lactation Consultation

Families may benefit from a lactation consultation if they experience:

    • Difficulty latching

    • Pain with breastfeeding

    • Concerns about milk supply

    • Slow infant weight gain

    • Questions about pumping or milk storage

    • Bottle refusal or feeding challenges

    • Returning to work while breastfeeding
